Overview

Task App is a productivity tool that helps you manage tasks and projects. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how you can control it.

Data We Collect

Account data: When you sign in with Google or a magic link, we store your email address, display name, and profile photo URL via Firebase Authentication.
Task data: Tasks, projects, and settings you create are stored in Google Cloud Firestore, linked to your user account.
Analytics (optional): If you consent, Google Analytics collects anonymized usage data (pages visited, feature usage) to help us improve the app.
Marketing (optional): If you consent, Lemon Squeezy affiliate tracking may set cookies for our referral program.

Cookies

We use the following categories of cookies:

Necessary: Required for authentication and core app functionality. These cannot be disabled.
Analytics: Google Analytics cookies that help us understand how the app is used. Enabled only with your consent.
Marketing: Lemon Squeezy affiliate cookies for our referral program. Enabled only with your consent.

Sub-Processors & Third-Party Services

The list below is the complete set of sub-processors that handle your personal data on our behalf. We do not share your data with any other third parties.

Firebase (Google LLC, USA): Authentication and Firestore database hosting for task and account data. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
Google Analytics (Google LLC, USA): Anonymized usage tracking, loaded only after analytics consent.
Lemon Squeezy (USA / Ireland): Payment processing, subscription management, and affiliate tracking. Subject to Lemon Squeezy's Privacy Policy.

Data Retention & Deletion

Your task data is retained as long as your account is active. You can delete individual tasks and projects at any time. To delete your entire account and all associated data, contact us and we will process your request promptly.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your data
Withdraw consent for analytics and marketing cookies at any time
Export your data
Object to processing or request restriction of processing
Data portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority if you believe your rights have been violated. You can find your authority via the European Data Protection Board.

California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

Right to know: You can request what personal information we collect, use, and disclose.
Right to delete: You can request deletion of your personal information.
Right to opt-out: You can opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information.
Non-discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your CCPA rights.

We do not sell your personal information. Task App does not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties for monetary or other valuable consideration. To exercise any of your CCPA rights, please contact us through the app's feedback channel.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), and similar laws in other US states, you have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, including sharing for the purposes of cross-context behavioural advertising.

We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. The only data sharing that occurs is with the sub-processors listed above, which act on our behalf to deliver the service you requested.

Optional analytics and marketing cookies are governed by your cookie preferences. You can withdraw consent at any time from Settings → Privacy, or by clearing the cookie-consent entry in your browser's site storage.

We also honour the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal. If your browser sends GPC, we automatically treat your visit as an opt-out of analytics and marketing cookies without requiring you to interact with the consent banner.
